This article continues on from the World Cancer Day patient resources (see below for a link) and focuses on where carers can seek help. There are specific state based organisations that assist patients and I have also listed additional sources of assistance.
1. Carer Help
There are videos and other resources to assist carers from specific topics such as grief and where to get additional support.
2. Cancer Voices
They are an advocacy group that organise local, state and national events to improve cancer care and patient experience.
3. Can Assist
A NSW based organisation that provides support and financial assistance for people with cancer. There is information on accomodation when travelling for treatment as well as where to find transportation.
4. Red Kite
This is a charity specifically for carers of children with cancer, they offer emotional and financial support as well as resources for clinicians looking after the children.
5. CanTeen
CanTeen offers support to young people (12- 24) who have been diagnosed with cancer as well as their families. They offer a 24/7 online chat to contact a counsellor for free, events, online resources.
